Seasonal change in the Bay Area might not be as drastic as those in New England, but I think it is safe to say Fall has officially arrived. Pumpkins have been carved, leaves have started to change, and it's dark at both 7 am and 7 pm. So while our window of riding in day light is limited, it is still one of the best times of the year to ride. A few days of soaking rain has left us with superb trail conditions, which is the mountain biker's equivalent to a skier's first big powder day of the year. You can feel good about putting your road bike aside for a bit. Bring out the mountain bikes, get away from the cars, and go get a little muddy.
